You can ask Showgaze to delete your account and the personal information we hold about you at any time. This page explains what we delete and how to request it. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which describes the rights you have under the Australian Privacy Principles.
How to request account deletion
Email [email protected] with the subject line "Account Deletion Request". To help us find your account and information, please include:
- The name and email address associated with your Showgaze account.
- If your request relates to footage you uploaded without an account, the event name or upload link, and the approximate date.
We will confirm receipt and complete verified account deletion requests within a reasonable time, and in any case within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request to protect your account security.
What we delete
- Account details — your profile, login credentials, and any associated details you shared when signing up.
- Uploaded media — As a reminder from the Upload Terms you agreed to when contributing footage, your video and audio is licenced to be used and synchronized in the event's official production. For this reason, individual clips cannot be deleted on request once submitted. However, all raw assets are automatically removed from our active servers within 28 days of the event closing.
- Messages and interactions — any data we obtained when you messaged or interacted with us.
Things to note
- Some information may be retained where we are legally required to keep it, or to complete an event's post-production cycle under our agreement with the event organiser. We will tell you if this applies to your request.
- Footage you contributed to a specific event will have already been provided to that event's authorised organiser. The organiser is the controller of the copies provided to them.
